Overview

Effective sound insulation is a necessity as peace and quiet are essential to relaxation, healing and concentration. Long-term noise disturbance may even lead to significant health problems.

Gyproc SoundBloc walling systems, made of SoundBloc plasterboard (blue paper lining) have been designed and developed with sound insulating properties in mind.

Installation Guide

Determine and mark wall position and make allowance for openings. Fix DonnFrame C Track at 600mm centres using suitable fixings.
Step 1
Measure the wall height and cut the DonnFrame C Stud to size. Install the stud into the track.
Step 2
Twist the DonnFrame C Stud into place.
Step 3
Ensure the stud is plumb and mark stud position.
Step 4
Fix the DonnFrame C Stud to the abutting wall at 600mm centres using suitable fixings.
Step 5
Insert top DonnFrame C Stud into position.
Step 6
Fasten the top DonnFrame C Stud at 600mm centres using suitable fixings.
Step 7
Insert DonnFrame C Studs at 600mm centres to a friction fit within the channel sections-this allows for adjustment during boarding. Position the studs so all face the same direction. Apply sealant between the building structure and the framework.
Step 8
Fix Gyproc SoundBloc board to the studs using Gyproc Sharp Point Screws 25mm.
Step 9
Install Isover Cavitybatt as boarding commences.
Step 10
After the boarding is complete, apply Gyproc RhinoTape to all joints.
Step 11
Apply Gyproc RhinoGlide to the joints using a 150mm taping knife.
Step 12
Fill all screw heads and apply a second layer of RhinoGlide using 300mm steel trowel.
